Okay, so made up that word. But, it works. It should be a part of our Systematic Theology. These are the notes that i used Wednesday evening, July 22, 2026 when talking about the importance that the New Testament authors (and Jesus, Himself) placed on what was written by the prophets. I figured the notes would make it easier to follow along.
It is ALWAYS important to remember that all of the new testament authors assume a working knowledge of what we now call the old testament. To illustrate, if you do not know the old testament well, you will understand very little of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John , to say nothing of books like Acts or Hebrews. Prophecy is so woven into the fabric of new testament thought that again, without a solid old testament Israel ology, you will get lost pretty quickly. Thanks Jim.
